Temperatures mid-day invariably exceed 90 degrees, and in 1998 were over 100. Also, the regatta is small and so has fewer events, with less time between similar events (the GJ1x and GJ2x, for example). It is strongly recommended that no athlete enter more than two events.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"EN\">All pre-registration is done at\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.regattacentral.com\/regatta\/index.jsp?job_id=4557&amp;org_id=0\">Regatta Central<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span lang=\"EN\">Please take a moment to review the rules and regulations in our\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/philadelphiayouthregatta.com\/?page_id=243\">Regatta Bulletin.<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>Details at\u00a0<span style=\"color: #74002f;\"><a style=\"color: #74002f;\" href=\"https:\/\/philadelphiayouthregatta.com\/?page_id=259\">Competitors | Registration<\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\" style=\"color: #000000;\">There is no on-site registration at the regatta, but you are welcome to check in with us at the Regatta HQ Tent just downriver from the Gillin\u00a0Boat Club (Home to St. Joe&#8217;s Prep \/ St. Joseph&#8217;s University Rowing).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The regatta start time is 8:00 a.m. The order of events is fixed and will not be changed. Our best early guess on the regatta schedule is\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/philadelphiayouthregatta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Philadelphia-Youth-Regatta-2015-Saturday-Jul-25-heat-sheet.pdf\">last year&#8217;s schedule.<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">All events will be run as flights. We will not have heats with top boats advancing to finals. Flight Awards will be given to top winners in each flight.\u00a0 Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place across all flights for an EVENT and distributed at the Regatta HQ Tent.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The regatta will NOT be delayed to accommodate doubling or hot-seating. In the heat, it&#8217;s just not fair to the other competitors.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The regatta is open to juniors only.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A junior is a competitor who in the current calendar year does not attain the age of 19, or who is and has been continuously enrolled in secondary school as a full time student seeking a diploma. A competitor thus ceases to be a Junior after December 31 of the year of his or her 18th birthday, or of the year in which he or she completes the 12th grade of secondary school, having been a full time student, whichever is later.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A\u00a0Cadet U19 Rower\u00a0is a competitor who will not attain the age of 19 in the current calendar year\u00a0 or has been continuously enrolled in a secondary school, per above.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A\u00a0Colt U17 Rower\u00a0is a competitor who will not attain the age of 17 in the current calendar year.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A\u00a0Tyro U14 Rower\u00a0is a competitor who will not attain the age of 14 in the current calendar year.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There will be a mandatory coaches and coxswains meeting at the Regatta HQ Tent at 6:30 am.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Novice quads, boys &amp; girls events &#8211; must have started rowing after January 1. 1These events are 1000 meters. This event is intended for learn-to-row programs. We&#8217;ll put at least two hours between the boys and girls races to permit doubling of equipment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">All events except the dash races are 1500 meters.
